Hello! I’m glad you’re here.
Journaling is one of my favorite ways to slow down, get creative, and document my thoughts and experiences. I’ve slowly been trying out different supplies over the years and this is my current favorites list.

My [Pen] Dream Team
Tombow Fudenosuke Hard & Soft Tip - ideal for brush lettering, these pens are my go-to for writing headers. The hard tip is the popular choice, but my personal favorite is the soft tip (I know I’m the odd one out on this). This is the only pen that has always been on my dream team.
Tombow Dual Brush Pen - These beauties are perfect for adding eye-catching color and bold lettering to my pages. The dual tip makes them versatile for both fine details and broad strokes.
Writech Sign Brush Pen - These brush pens are fantastic for adding colorful lettering to your page! They are juicy, bold, and smooth and immediately became a favorite.
Writech Aurora Gel Pen - If you’re looking for a gel pen that glides across the page, this is it! I love using it for everyday journaling.
Writech Needle Tip Gel Pen - I love, love, love a thin, scratchy pen and this one is perfect! It writes smoothly and is comfortable to hold.
The Dream Support Team
Sewing Scissors - A bit unconventional, but these are sharp, precise scissors that are small enough to fit in my pencil bag. I use them to cut washi tape, intricate photos, and whatever random items I add to my journal.
Double-Sided Tape - My favorite for adhering photos, receipts, wrappers, etc into my journal. It does add some bulk to the pages, but it’s clean and easy to use, store, and transport.
Washi Tape - I love using washi tape to add color, frame photos, and fill space.
Printer & Printer Paper - I have a Brother HL-L3270CDW color printer and print on 8.5”x11” standard paper. It’s perfect for my needs even though the quality isn’t perfect. I aim for documenting memories over having the highest quality prints.
iPad & Procreate App - Completely unnecessary for journaling, but this is how I print and write on photos.
Lap Desk - journaling feels extra cozy when I can sit on the couch and cuddle my puppies at the same time. My husband also loves this lap desk and is usually using it when I’m not.
Having the right supplies makes journaling even more enjoyable and the best part is, it’s all subjective - what are you favorite journaling tools?
Feel free to share any of your pages with me on Instagram @natashainyourphone. I love seeing what you make and if/how I’ve inspired you.
See you soon and happy journaling!
